I ordered about $700+ in glass to go with my 350 about 2 months ago. I called my order in over the phone and did NOT have to send a copy of my CC. And yes the 3 to 5 days are working days. But I believe I received my on the 4th day not counting the weekend.
What did you order?

At the moment the order is in process so i guess i will not have to send in the print of the card... on the e-mail i recieve it did not ask for it but i have read somewhere on the page that you should send a print or photocopy of the cc... if it is in process it means it is being prepared to be sent right?

Yeah, I did send a copy on my first order, they require it for non-US credit cards. Can't remember though if they asked specifically for it. A warning: don't use USPS for shipping to Europe, took 3 weeks on my order. When you order UPS-shipping it takes 2 or 3 days: I ordered twice on Tuesday afternoon, had my stuff delivered on Thursday morning. |

I'm in the UK and faxed a photocopy of my card and seem to remember the order got processed the same day. I tend to find B&H are very quick in dealing with orders.
When I do my orders now it generally takes 1 day for the order/packing, 1 day in the air across the Atlantic, and 1 day local delivery. So I can order on Monday and have it by Wednesday.
And yes, NEVER use USPS, always use a proper courier. For my orders I've found UPS to be cheapest, but I guess it depends what country you're shipping to. |

I emailed B&H a copy of my CC and recieved my order after 3 days, now I have ordered for more than $10,000 from B&H and never had any problems, all items are in stock and I have never had to wait longer than 5 days, including weekend.
and ALWAYS use UPS express :) |

Fredrico, you can send me the copy of your credit card and I'll make sure B+H gets it, and then tell you how long my order takes to get to me. ;-) lol
Seriously though, what'd you get? |

can the copy of the cc card be a photo taken of it and sent it to them via e-mail? or does it have to be a photocopy? or you don't know the answer? :)

On a security note, I wouldn't send you're cc copy via email. Email is not secure.

Yes, that is possible. You need to send an image of both sides of the card though.

DanSig, I'm a bit curious* what is your most recent purchase?
*And yes, a bit envious too - I admit it. ;-) |

I sent a CC photo by e-mail. Probably wasn't the best idea but I wanted my stuff fast.
I ordered on Friday afternoon, and it arrived on Wednesday morning. I live in Germany!
It was with UPS delivery.
For anyone here in Germany I had to pay 16% Tax plus about 6% import duty which whittled the advantage down a bit. Was still cheaper than here but not by as much as I had hoped. |

B&H is a great place to do business with and I understand CC fraud and a company wanting to protect it's self. But I would not send a copy of CC to anyone especially the backside with the 3 dig code on it. If it got lost in the mail...ouch! And I was a manager for a world wide retail chain of stores. You would not believe the CC fraud that is done by employees. When I worked for that company a few inside thefts come to light that I could not believe. Managers, employees, etc. taking a copy of the customers CC and purchasing something for them selves. I think the biggest I heard of within the company was over $250,000 USD in CC theft within a three month period before a flag to investigate came up. They made sure the purchases was below $500 each by splitting the sale up between more than one CC. Yes it was a loop hole in the POS system, because you should not be able to use more than one CC on a single purchase because of collateral. It made life hell for the people who had the CC stolen and especially the ones that was a debit CC. But the great thing was that all were caught. And from what I understand they are serving time and will be held for restitution. But I don't know how long. |

You'll like the 580. It has a lot of functions, but for the most part I just use it in auto with maybe a slight +/- adjustment to output. |

I ordered several Tamrac MAS products and a 70-200mm f/2.8 IS last Monday and the merchandise arrived Wednesday. Very fast service.
But they did do a fair amount of credit card scrutiny...

Yes, you can use a photo, but you are limited to basic editing. ;-) |

HI!
I was just wondered (for the UK guys... or even any EU ones!) do you ALWAYS got caught with VAT/ tax. I am going to take the plunge soon, but just wondered what the likelyhood was of getting stopped. I've worked out its still cheaper, but could mean an extra lens! I think i'm gonna stagger my order, get a few bits now than get some more in a few months.
As I'm probably going for the 350D, is only a plug adaptor I need to charge is up? I'd hate to have a new toy and not be able to play! |

if you are planing on a big purchase then it might be cheaper to fly to the USA and pick up the kit, then just ship the packaging to UK if you want to keep it, put all the gear in a camerabag, use it on your trip to the USA and when you go through customs say you bought it in europe some weeks ago.. no vat/tax and a nice trip to NewYork :) |
