Took this picture at the local park today. Three men had what looked like 10 or so 'Proline' gas remote trucks and cars. They were racing three at a time. I have never see remote trucks and cars go so fast. I would not be surprised if they were going 30 mph or more.

Nice sharp shot, got to love that 4L. If they do this often this is a good way to practice your panning... Get just a little bit of motion (sideways) blur in the background and the Wheels (rims) a little fuzzy to give us a sense of movement. Track it, lock it (I use AI Servo) Shoot and follow through (once the shutter is pushed keep tracking it).
Nice dirt action going on... |

Wow!
Thats a great shot.
Panning is hard, I tried it once with my F717, and got lucky.
This shot was handheld @ 1/30..

I have a few of those RC cars. I used to race them a few years ago, raced against the pros too. I have one that is a 1/4scale that will do almost 80mph. Its alot of fun. Great shot BTW. |

Nice shot SDW
I've been involved in 1/8th scale off road racing in the Uk for about 8 years and have just come back from a national meet on sunday, in my experience they are incredibly hard photograpth as they accelerate so quickly 0-40mph in about 30 ft, love trying to snap them in mid air over jumps etc only shot i have posted is this of last years uk champ

I started this hobby a little while now and i have just finished completing the assemble of one car and i am building three more...
The one that i just finished goes from 0-70kmh in 3,5s...
So yes these things are pretty fast... i have not tried the car yet but i'll make sure i'll take some photos of it... :)

Very cool shot Scott!! My husband and I used to have a couple of these. They are a blast, though the ones we had seemed to be more delicate than I thought they should be. Everytime I ran it in to the curb, something would break off!!??! Oops, did I say I ran it into a curb? What I meant to say is everytime I took it off a jump... yeah, that's it! :-)
But then we had kids and ended up selling them cause they were just too expensive to sit around gathering dust. :-(

This one was awesome caught him after a few flips spinning on his back wheels. I wish I would of had a little blur in it to show the motion. I guess I was close when I said they were going 35 mph or faster. And you are right they could get up to speed in a split second.

I shot this last friday. My friend has the whole sequence on video with his Canon powershot. This one was pretty fast. |
