"60 minute challenge"
Basic Rules
This challenge would be announced several days in advanced for a particular time of day. An example: December 12 at 12 noon. Another example might be New Year's 2006.
You'd have 60 minutes to take the photo (though a day to submit said photo). Just a short window of opportunity/eligability.

I don't think DPC supports hours or minutes. Sometimes it's difficult enough to take time zones into consideration. Furthermore, many people would have to get up in the middle of the night in order to participate!

If it's going to be announced ahead of its start time then people can shoot something anytime and change the date and time on their cameras to reflect the challenge times.
I like the idea, though, with different, but similar rules. |

I think theSaj meant that the challenge will be preannounced, but that the challenge theme would be announced as usual - at the beginning of the timeframe.
I do however agree that such challenges are impractical given the global scope of DPC users... Imagine the new year fireworks challenge where only one timezone in the world would be able to have a decent pic.

I''m not sure if it would be possible with the coding and verification methods and all that, but perhaps having it so it was a certain time for the time zone that you were in. Like: 12 noon where you live (for everyone).
Does that make sense??? or did I start in too early after I woke up?

Yes, people could change the date on their cameras.....
People could also edit the files...
But I think the vast majority wouldn't and it could be done as an unweighted challenge. (Not factored into the totals)

If its unwaited or not factored in totals, I doubt any serious participation or voting |
