OK...so yes, he's talking in the third person at the moment...not sure why -- He thinks he might be going crazy.

Anyway, deapee spent his day measuring the back of his Jeep to build a nice storage box. Then, he went to Home Depot and had the plywood cut, got a 2x4, cut it himself with a saw 4 times to make 4 equal pieces. Here's a picture somewhere in the middle...

So then he went back to home depot, bought hinges, carpet, carpet glue and more screws and put that all on there. He spent an hour measuring and cutting the carpet, so it's just right...and it looks SOOO good. But then he puts it in the back of the jeep -- it's a tight squeeze, but he expected it would be. IT DOESNT FIT!!!!!!!!!! I mean it goes in, but there's like 15 things in the way including the rear door latch and the rear part of the center console.

So anyway...that's how I spent my evening...I think I should just go get a shower and go to bed.

Sorry to hear about deapee's day. But perhaps deapee can also find some silver linings here. Cut up the box into triangular shapes and enter it in the challenge? I'll personally look out for that and get ready my 10 rating to compensate for the bad day.
It's a nice-looking box.

Brando feels sorry for u but....(and he doesn't want to be rude).....would like to know why he should care any further than saying he was sorry.......

btw-brando can't drive yet so he holds small animosity for the fact that deapee can and hence the latter part of his answer sounding somewhat mean...

_brando_

also why the hell is brando speaking in 3rd person.......?

:-(

Makes a nice platform. Maybe Deapee could stand on it and practice speeches or posing as a statue or maybe even dancin' a jig. Deapee has soooo many options here if Deapee just takes advantage of them. ;-P

Robt. thinks deapee had a worse day than he realizes, if he paid for plywood and got stuck with that wood-chip junky stuff...

Drive Jeep over box, crushing box, and take a picture to frame for the wall. We all love destruction!

Get a sawzall and enlarge jeep to fit box.
Get a belt sander and shrink box to fit jeep.

Paint box like TNT boxes in road runner cartoons, put in something that ticks, and leave near an important building. Film at 11.

I'd offer to help...but i can measure it 3 times and get 4 measurements. All will be wrong.

Don't joke -- I actually was thinking about that....at least for a second, it crossed my mind.

I'm going to wait until Saturday and just take it all back apart and have another go at it...I'm going to try and salvage the carpet -- hopefully that glue stuff isn't as good as they said it was.

You might want to pull the carpet off sooner. After a couple of days that glue is going to be a lot harder to remove!

The next time you buy a car, make sure it fits the box! :)
