I didn't want this thread getting jacked, and think it should have it's own home.
Recently I remember someone (forget who she was) posting about trying to develop a new style or niche in their photographic journey. It seems to be a similar path I'm on or seem to be wandering in & out of.
How many of you have done like me, and flopped all over hell & high water, trying anything & everything, yet not finding that certain "gotcha" that you knew was your calling. I somehow think that jumping into the mix here in the challenges, with a theme to shoot and a time frame to do it in, helps the learning and development of style and quality.
For any of you that have been around DPC for a year (or longer), have you taken a journey back and really looked at where you were, the transition to and where you are now?
* Did you just continue to do anything & everything, just learned to do it better, or did you branch off one way, and attempt to master a niche?
* Did you stop submitting to everything that came down the road and focused your attention in one certain area?
* Did you find yourself being less & less concerned with scores and more with personal satisfaction/acheivement?
just curious to hear some personal reflections on the subject.
