A friend of mine asked if I could locate a website that gave examples of different poses or backgrounds for infants and children. She would like to steer clear of having the shots done professionally, and is more interested in doing the shots with props herself. Anyone have their own samples or website they would like to submit of work they've done with children?
You all rock. |

Not many props, just a lucky catch with a happy child!
My limited experience is angle and someone making the child smile or achieve the right facial expression and patience! |

Hi Beth, well I love childrens photography and am constantly on the lookout for great sites and photographers that capture the wonderful spirits of kids. Here are a couple of sites that I like. Some may not necesarilly be "posed" but they really capture that essence.
Jinky Art
International Guild of Children's Photographers
Audrey Woulard who is Photomama here on dpc
grigrigirl's website
Also Sonifo has some wonderful shots as well. I've just started working on my website and there are a few there also although they don't compare to any of those above. :-) my meager little site
Hope this helps :-)

Thank you for your suggestions, this is going to be incredibly helpful to her and I appreciate it.
kawesttex: I love your shot, I have to 'fake out' my daughter to get her to ignore the camera and smile. Those photos are one in a million at this point!
On my way to check out all of your links
Thanks again :) |

I have found that the more you carry the camera around the less the kids/adults pay attention to it. It gives a greater opportunity for a good candid shot.

Thanks Ken,
That is an excellent point, I never thought to get the kids acclimated to its presence...I usually make a mad dash to grab it and lose the moment. Good thinking. |

My oldest has gotten so used to the camera now he just wants to take the pictures instead of being in them... he's two and he's pretty good at it! ;-D
Just beware of the terrible "CHEEEEEESE" face! :-D
