Same flower as the one I entered, but shot against the sky instead of shadow. I decided against this one for many reasons - one being that the flower's too big, and another being that I just plain liked the other one better.
I considered this one briefly, minus the text and funny border, but this just doesn't fit the idea of minimalism at all for me, and it really needs some advanced editing to make it decent.
Comments/critiques would be great! I'm extremely pleased with how the one I entered did, and I know neither of these would've done very well - so thanks for all of the great comments on my entry, and for the nifty score :) |

Of the two flower shots, the one entered is far more dynamic, because of its contrast and the excellent inline adds to the appeal; I am positive it dared better with the voters than this one would have. The bridge shot wouldn't have been considered on-topic I don't think.

ladybirds ruled in this challenge
so i guess i should have sent this one
than again for my own sense of respect i am more satisfied with the one i sent though it did not score very high

These shots are both compositional "rulebreakers", but work very well I believe.
