ok, i'm totally jealous of the GTGs on the coasts, so i would like to gauge interest in some kind of midwest group outing this summer.
i realize "midwest" is a gigantic spread. i was kind of thinking that chicago would give us a good turnout, but i'm wondering about other midwesterners (MI, IN, IL, MO, WI) in the area who would be willing to travel there? are there other "regional" places with concentrations of DPCers that you think would be afford a good GTG turnout (St. Louis, Columbus, Detroit-ish, etc.)
basically what i'm asking is: does anyone else in a flyover state want to meet up?

How about Indianapolis, after the race of course.

I'm certainly up for a GTG, I believe the Chicago GTG last Summer was a success, though I was on travel and could not attend.
Unless I have a date conflict, I'd be highly likely to attend anything within a 300-400 mile radius of Milwaukee. I work in Chicago, so that's not a problem, and if I leave from there, it makes some of the other destinations 100 miles shorter :-)
I'm tempted to propose WI, during Summerfest |

well, let's talk about dates. are there weekends that would be completely out of bounds?
kirbic: a friend of mine was just talking about summerfest this weekend. i think a group from here might be going up. if you're going to go regardless, maybe we should hook up.
anyone else interested in summerfest, or would chicago be a better bet?

I would be interested in the gtg! I unfortunately missed the last

Just thought Chicago might be too far fer ya.
I've gotta get to MN sometime anyway 'cause I really want a photo of myself tossing up my hat next to the Mary Tyler Moore statue.

Chicago would be awesome! I started the whole thing last year and then didn't even get to go. What sucks for me is that I'm the pizza guy so my 'weekend' is Mon & Tues more often than not...

My favorite is Dues (Unos is the same but more expensive and more crowded). The upper balcony would be fun for a group.
At least we can eat Chicago pizza any way we want without looking touristy (y'know in NYC you have to fold it in half or you scream tourist! But what the heck; it doesn't matter ...) |
