Hey guys this place is empty.
New Zealand of course, me and 50 million sheep live here, as opposed to Britain which untill last year had 25 million slackers probably 26 million now, which all the rest plus me and of course dedicated photographites like you all supported.
I left last year.

Scotland
One of the most beautiful countries in the world and the least populated area in Europe.
And we know a wee thing or two about folk music

Any more thoughts? |
I thought you wanted near the sea???
However Both places are beautiful. |
We do, but I fear that finding work in the costal areas that we like might be difficult. We have family and contacts inthe West Mids that we can fall back on and there is a chance the if I continue to do the work I'm doing now then that would be somewhere along the M4. Looking at cost of renting a house etc, then we seem to end up in this area.
Where we are now I spend 3 hours a days commuting to work so travelling does not bother me.

I would have to say Scotland. I'm an Englishman who has lived all along the Thames Valley, Cambridge and London. I've been in Edinburgh off and on now for 14 years and would be very reluctant to move away now. The City is small enough not to be overpowering but has everything you could want within it. Much IT work here especially as it is a thriving financial centre. Sea only 2 minutes drive away from where I live in the North of the city (Leith) but really good beaches within 45 minutes drive. You have got all of the Highlands and Islands to shoot (4-5 hrs drive to the North-West) which makes the English Countryside look like a Surbiton backgarden. We have Sky up here for the fitba (football). The only thing I miss about England is the lush greens of Summer. Ben |

Now this is true - I listen to Archie Fisher every week :)
But, I'm English, not an average Scot's favorite group of people ;)

there is no finer place in the world than the county of Cornwall.
YAY
Nowhere in the county is more than 15 miles from the sea.
Longest coastline of any English county.
The north coast is rugged atlantic hewn Cliffs.
The south coast is gentler but no less stunning.
The Gulf Stream makes it pretty mild, I have palm trees in my back garden.
The air is too salty and the temp too mild to get much snow.
BOOOOOO
The air is too salty and the temp too mild to get much snow.
House prices are on a par with the South East. So many people have holiday homes here, locals can't afford to live here anymore.
It gets very busy in the summer.
Nearest motorway is 2 hours away in Exeter.
Rubbish public transport, esp in evenings/weekends.
The job market is rubbish.
I love it here and won't move for a long time. When I do leave, I know I'll be back later.... |
