Couple shots I got while waiting for oral surgery, in front of the dentist's office, immediately after a rainstorm in totally diffused cloudlight, handheld. The daffodil was literally soaked, that's why it looks blotchy; it's not a jpg artefact.

Nice. I like the blue one.
...but I really want to see pics of your root canal. ;-)

very nice bear, i like the blue one too. I am always a sucker for flowers. Even though people on here are "over" them.

I can't find anything to criticise with those two shots, they are both lovely.
I have spent all winter waiting for the weather to improve and have more sunny days for outdoor shooting. Now I am starting to really appreciate the "less than perfect" ones when the light is diffuse, or how clear it gets right after a shower. I have so much to learn about photography. I don't think I could stand to live in a place where the weather is the same year round.
Hope everything went as well for you inside the dentist's office as it did outside.

Emphasis added above; that's EXACTLY why I left San Diego to retire to Cape Cod. Most people think I'm insane, but the weather is so much more interesting. Plus, of course, it's a naturally photogenic place. Pity poor BradP, stuck there yet... Though, to be fair, they HAVE had some weather so far this year....
Things went as well as could be expected at the dentist, considering I'm in the midst of implants, thanks.

For those who have commented upon "Blue" and its "glow":
I'm using a fairly complex workflow here. For comparison, check the original:
Basically, I've made a selection of the foreground group of flowers and saved it. I'm using repeated passes of of Gaussian Blur and sharpening, each on its own layer and faded in different layer modes, to produce the "glow" on the flowers. Plus, of course, hue/saturation to intensify the blue to how my eyes perceived it. On the background I'm using Gaussian Blur, hue/saturation, and levels to restrict the tonal range.

Incidentally, the daffodil also is uncropped; both were framed carefully in camera.

Yes, sir, I am talking about dentistry, and annoyingly invasive dentistry at that. It involves removing bad teeth, implanting rods in the jawbone, and then making permanent teeth that mount to those rods. As opposed to removeable bridges. I have been plagued with "soft teeth" all my life.

Ohhhh. Whew! {{ shakes previous image out of his head }}.
I may have to deal with that soon as well. I've had dentist-phobia since I was in the Navy and saw "some things" :(
Good luck Robert.
