| My husband is a member here and while I know very little about photography, I like general discussion lounges and I just try to contribute where I can. |

when i got my first digital camera, I did a search cause I was looking for a place to share and talk about digital photography and google brought me here.......... so I been here even since.

I get a weekly newsletter email from my ISP & in the section of users favourite sites that get posted each week was the link to dpchallenge just called Competitive Digital Photography. I realised as sopon as I linked to it that this was exactly what I was looking for to help me to learn more about photography & the workings of my camera.That was in July '04. I registered almost immediately. A few months later after seeing all the great challenges that members were getting that I was missing out on as a registered user, I decided to take the plunge & get membership. I didn't have a paypal account but this thread paved the way & I was a member the same day.

You can all blame BAMartin for my being here. We bugged her on another site, wanting to know where she had been and she linked to here. Then I saw ClubJuggle (aka terry) Was also here and knew it had to be a decent place. :)

I saw the site in a list of top sites in PC Magazine back about a year ago and registered pretty soon after that. I had realized that I could finally practice photography a lot and not shell out a lot in film and developing costs, and this site's layout and ease of use was appealing.

I was lucky enough to find this place by accident while surfing around about digital cameras. Entered my first challenge and like a dork signed my name to the photo.!!
I had a Kodak DC 210 and then moved to an Olympus E20.
Also I had to get here and cool the beer for Jacko! |

A link to DPC was posted in the forum at 2cpu. I checked it out, paid for a membership within a week or so.
I am now on my second year and haven't spent as much time elsewhere as I did before.

I started hearing what I thought were just tall tales about six months ago. Month after month I'd hear one incredible tale after another about some guy called kpriest. One short month ago, with the help of the FBI, I traced him to this site. Now I'm stalking him. (Just kidding, I was searching for porn.)

My Spirit Guide took over my body and led me here. Only time he took over my body and there wasn't any blood or screaming when I got back; the subsequent mental anguish made up for that.

I dont doubt that at all! But I also think you and Sara have awesome stuff too! :) It does truely run in yalls family..

I was googling contest when I found this site and been here since along with my hubby, dad, daughter, a few friends, face it yall its a hookable place!

I was on photographytips.com message board and Magnetic posted a link to dpc and I was thusly hooked ever since. That contact was also responsible for at least *counting on fingers* at least 7 paying members and at least 10 overall. So go Mag!
(I also met Mag at a NYC GTG and he's a great guy!)

i did a google search for photo contests.
i came across quite a few, but this site really stuck with me. i'm not one to pay for memberships but i found myself loving the work here and knew it was worth it.

2months & a few days ago / 17 challenges ago i saw this site reffered to by someone on dpreview ..
don't go back there very often, to much:
"mine is bigger than yours",C vs N, 'wedding fotogergrfurs know all' and 'r Proffusionals', are not, are too, 'if a spend $$$$ i will take excelent picktures'
bah .. i just want to get better ..

i decided one day a few weeks ago to google search "photography contest" and decided to click this one.....i looked around for a few hours seen all the great photos and all the info (me being the sponge that i am when it comes to photography) that could be obtained and registered. i am now begging hubby for membership!...on a side note..since registering (about 3 weeks ago) Im not sure if i have ever left the site yet...Ive even gotten a notebook to record comments and how to's, and any other suggestions made in forums. I just loveeeeeeee this site...cant wait to be a member!

I believe Drjones, who's a friend of _Armadildo_pointed him to this side, and Arma is a good friend (and roommate at the time) of mine, who pointed meto this place.
Its one of the best 'internet' thing that's happened to me in a while too, i learn so much here its scary.

| Back in December I did a search on google for "Photography Contests", and first found another well-known page, and joined, but was very disappointed in the feedback recieved there. There seemed to be very little interaction. So I searched again, and found dpchallenge. Checked it out for a few weeks and loved it. Became a member and have been pretty active ever since. I love the dpchallenge webpage design, as it is so easy to move around from area to area. I also enjoy the forums very much, as well as the comments on photo challenges. This is a site I have recommended to every single photography friend I have, and even some that aren't friends. |

I came here by way of Photosig, then usefilm.com, then photopoints, then here. I was looking for a place where you could get ratings on anonymous photos. I found on other sites, when the photo was not anonymous, you would get cliques and people simply trying to make "friends" feel good. I was looking for honest critiques, and this is the first place I found where you could actually get them.
But I found it on my own via search, as I recall. |

My bloody friend John (Floyd) pointed the site out to me as he knew about my interest in photography...
I don't even want to THINK about the number of hours I've spent here since then!!!!
