But if I make a comment now it adds it to my profile - likewise if I recieve one. The rest of the stats certainly work that way, but all the linkable ones seem to be immediately updated.

The correct answer would have been "Counts on your profile do not take into account current voting challenges, which the submissions counts DO!"
I was also taking into account disqualified images and hidden comments which increased the counts a good bit for some.
Oopsie.

The counts on my profile page are as follows:
Made: 2350
Rec'd: 2318
If I follow the links to the detail views of those, the totals are:
Made: 2330
Rec'd: 2288
Which is correct, as I've made 20 comments in minimalism and recieved 30.
If I hit the submission link, it tells me I need ...
... oh, it's changed now. Thanks. It used to say I need to make 26 more 'quality' comments.

No disrespect, but are you sure about that? On my profile page a minute ago it showed I had made 502 comments. I just commented on a jewelry challenge entry, went back to my profile page, and the number of comments I've posted is now 503.
As for comments rec'd - my number increases with every comment that is posted on my current challenge entry.
Now, if I follow the links of 'Comments Made' and 'Comments Received', those will show me comments on images EXCLUDING anything currently active in an ongoing challenge.
Summarize: Profile counts update immediately. Profile links to comments are challenge delayed.
By the way - Thanks for the great work on DPChallenge! I love this website and the member community. Take care.

It is what I have always seen. And as a bonus I had 2 comments (1 each on stuff in my portfolio). I made a comment after them and it counted it as a comment recieved from myself LOL. |
