| I don't plan on EVER wearing contact lenses. I just do not ever want a foreign object touching my eyeball. I remember when I was a kid I would get occasional bouts of pink-eye which just made me miserable. Even now every once in a while my eyes will become irritated because of (probably) dust or pollen, but nothing near as bad as my childhood days. I don't wear prescription glasses now; just reading glasses. I use them for a little more than just reading, like watching television, getting dressed, handling tools, etc. They are no problem for my photography as I don't need them for just walking around looking for pictures to shoot. I should probably see an optometrist as I use the highest-power reading glasses I can get and still have problems focusing on fine print such as in small paperback books, on CD and DVD packages, etc. |

I was a little wigged out at the idea of touching my eyeball too, but visually, contacts are much better than glasses. I originally got them for playing racquetball so that I would not have to get custom goggles and would still be able to see the ball. It was totally worth it.
I hardly ever wear my glasses anymore and the contacts are quite comfy. |
