I think the exif is keeping in the memory card, so if you don´t save the changes in the memory card, the exif will be the same. You are only changing the data in the new file.

EXIF isn't lost if you resize. EXIF is lost in the saving process. When you "Save for Web" EXIF is removed. When you "Save As" EXIF is retained.

If you are using Photoshop you will lose EXIF by using the 'Save for Web' feature. Use Save As instead to retain EXIF information.
Resizing and processing with Photoshop has no effect on the EXIF-information.

I had the same problem. All you need to do is get the Camera Raw Update (2.4) from Adobe and you will be fine.

And then you will be able to use the save for web function and still keep the exif data?

This is true, however it adds a new Photoshop tag in the exif which make it unfit for submitting as proof on DPC.

Hi,

I have an article on my website that addresses a similar issue of restoring EXIF to JPGs after conversion from raw or editing. Some of the information may be helpful, you can read it at: //www.creationview.com/Art-2.html

Be aware that intentionally altering EXIF data on an image submitted as proof to this site would result in suspension (at the very least).
