imagin if you saw this photo blown up and hanging in a museum, and you read the title, what would you think about?

this is for a contest submission, and i want to know what you think

Weeelll irika, :)
The first thing I notice is that it doesn't seem sharp. Like as in tack sharp.
The second thing is the color choice.

I like the lighting and it does have an appealing mood to it..even with the tones you've used. For me the appeal comes from the angle of the shot.
Please take my comments as just my opinion and best of luck to you in the contest.

I agreed with the sharpness. I also like the angle which you used. I think the B&W is O.K. becasue of the contrast. Also the bottom of the flower looks wilted which is not appealing. So it hasa it's good points and it not so good points. All in all the shot is nice.

neh, i can take it.

i like it in black and white because it portrays a sad somber mood. it sort of conflicting because the flowers are dafadils (spelling :/) and they always come out in warmth. but here they are captured in darkness, making them prisoners.

anyway, i sharpened it up a bit. hows it now?

Well if the challenge was to come up with the connection between the name and the shot, I failed my abstract thinking class.

When I see prisoner, and flower, I could only think about a venus fly trap type flower. Alternately, while I realize the connection between flowers and death, and prisoners and death, and the somber tones here as well, this particular composition doesn't make a connection with death, for me.

Sorry--I am in fact working very hard on seeing things without labels! But I failed this one.

okay okay i admit, "prisoners" is a bit of a weak title.

this picture isn't really on death. it could be whatever you want it to be. (negitivly speaking)

whats another good title?
