I think the composition is very fluid and graceful; both show an great artistic flair. I can't comment to intelligently on digital art, so I won't even try critique the technique and such. Glad to see you enjoying it all so much!!!

I think the first one could be used for wedding invitations.

I'm not fond of the first one by itself, but as mentioned could be used for wedding invitations or the like.
I do like the second one. Flowers are one of the few things the painting effects work pretty well on. |

Lisa, I think both have potential. The first one might be lightened a little more (at least on my monitor) to emphasize a pastel look. The second looks neat as a painting, but to me this looks like a single filter application, and you'll get more painterly results using filters in layers and adjusting transparencies, and sometimes, depending on the filter, by using them in succession on the same layer.
Also, you might using the dry brush on the second (or even the first). It's my favorite filter. If you fade it or use a layer to apply less of it, to 13% it has a sharpening effect; in between, it starts to look more painterly. It's a fun and effective filter.
Keep up the experimentation. It's definitely more fun than the update button! |

thanks Neil! I am really only a beginner and am not sure about what you just said. LOL. But if you want to have a go and show me what you mean go right ahead!

I think the effect you used is very nice but the subject matter needs to be change a bit. There is too much flat area facing the camera. Where there is more cuvres the effect work much better. The first one the effect was more pronounced in the bottom left and in the second that effect was more pronounced in the upper right. I think these would be much better if the pedals had more curves to them. Hope I am getting my point across properly. I think you may be on to something here though.
