Hi everybody.
Just wanted to let you know a thing or 2 about my photo.
First of all I want to take the opportunity to thank everybody who voted and/or commented on my photo.
The last week has been a real rush for me, seeing my score going up and down.
OK, just a few comments on comments Iâve received.
A few of the comments where about the eyes, so I wanted you to know that Natacha has extremely dark irises and her eye-white is also very very white.
I have made a âoff-camera, no photoshopâ crop of the original for you to see:
Yes, there is a difference between the original and the resulting photo, but I didnât dodge or burn anything.
There was also a comment about Natacha looking sad and alone.
I can assure you that Natacha is a very happy girl, as you can see from this photo taken just moments after the winner.
The photo is taken in The Netherlands, or Holland if you prefer, so I did not have to travel far to get it.
On the technical side, I used light coming from a window on the left side as you can see from the catchlight and a reflector from the right.
I did 7 shots in landscape, and 5 in portrait. Turned out that the first was the winner.
Edit: Hmm just realized that with this photo I got my averages votes received above 6, have the highest scoring photo for my camera and the lens used. Time to party!

She is, but sheâs also a menace to take photos off.
Her sister is a born âmodelâ she has something natural, if you take 10 photoâs of her, 8 are great. Natacha on the other hand can never be serious, has to make faces or is laughing like she does on the outtake.
I made this photo especially for her, because she also wanted to be âmy modelâ. The whole week she asked me for score updates and I explained to her that she was my highest scoring photo and maybe even a winner.
In about 3 hours when I leave work I finally can tell her that she won. I guess she will try to make her sister jealous (she was already in another challenge that scored lower off course)

OK,
I just told Natacha the "big news" that she won.
The first thing she did was stick her tongue out to her sister and made some comment, don't know but they are always trying to outdo eachother, so this was great news for her.
I asked her if she wanted to comment on something (remember she's 8)
So I translated "all" comment to her.
She laughed a few times, and she said to thank you, and that she is happy that you liked it, and now I have to buy her icecream.
So i'm off...

It's lovely to hear more about your rapport with Natacha - she's a beautiful girl and you and she both deserve the win!

Wanted to let you know that your picture had a beautifully National Geographic look to it. You and your model did a splendid job together!
