What stance does the SC take on photos that have been submitted, are within all rules, but the photographer asks for the image to be removed from voting? Do you ask in reply for a reason for removal and then make a determination from that answer or do you just pull it?

Here's what the challenge rules say:

A user may request removal of their own photo, for any reason, but only if they have not been disqualified for any reason in their last 25 submissions. Eligibility is determined only by the userĂ¢€™s most recent 25 submissions, and does not "accumulate." Please note that subsequent DQs within the next 25 submissions may incur a penalty as set forth below.

Sounds like a reason is not really needed, nor is a determination.

yes

I believe the drugs/alcohol rule is there at legal request. Pictures simply containing drugs or alcohol are not DQed - there has to be something else that really turns the picture into a promotion of use. I believe photos of a minor engaging in the use of drugs or alcohol is also a DQable offense.

Regarding the Date/DQ issue - I was surprised to hear people request DQ's for that other than the visual clues you mentioned. We still haven't heard officially why the "Angel" was DQ'd unless I missed it.

It was not DQed.

Another reason to request a DQ for violation of the date rule would be if you had seen the entry photo posted elsewhere on the net before the challenge.
