Here is the expectant father who is one half of a nesting pair of swans in our local park. The mother has been sitting on her nest for quite a while now so my daughter and I have been frequent visitors waiting for the signets.
I'll post a pic of the little uns when they arrive
I quite like the colours of this, it was a beautiful calm spring evening tonight.
Steve
p.s. Did you know that all swans in the UK are property of the Queen

Left you a comment, Steve. Very nice.
..and no, I didn't know they are property of the Queen! That's really interesting. Thanks for sharing that tidbit. :-)

It's like being an expectant father yourself isn't it? I shot our Grebes mating a month ago and given their 28 day incubation period I'm down at the lodge at every opportunity to check for new arrivals.
Incubation on the Mute is 34-38 Days btw, and yes, if you mess with the Queen's Swans you can probably be hung! ... or at least should be : )

great... now I have another reason to hate ya ;) you live in scotland, you used to have a fuji s5000 and upgraded to the new rebel which I would love to do, you are #3 to my #4 in the Fuji S5000 Highest Rated Photographs and now you have SWANS! I would love to photograph some swans. I could sit at the park all day and wait for some good reflective shots... hehe
This is a lovely shot and you should be proud :o)
