This one was interesting; looks like a toned, B/W conversion but actually, out of the camera it was almost pure monotone and I used selective color to ADD a little color to it. Very sophisticated lighting; north skylight...

Robt.

Mine was overly complicated as I was trying to tie-in the "Tacks" with Tax day and I initially went for the colored push pins on my bulleting moard, but thought voters would say "those are push-pins, not really tacks - doesn't meet the challenge" - so I go down to the garage search around, found some carpet tacks and a piece of wood.

I had no set ideas yet, so I bring these up to my office and the thought of poking a tack through my thumb seemed like a good idea. I tried sticking some tacks in my hand just enough to stick without drawing blood, tried poking them under my fingernails (now I know why that's an effective torture method), nothing worked, plus I couldn't setup the camera very well with one hand.

So I opted for cutting the point off one, superglueing it to my thumb and dripping a little fake blood on it. Then I added the tax reference and spelled out the title with the rest of the tacks I brought up.

The funny thing was that the very first comment I got when voting started was something like: "Challenge is plural, supposed to be more than one tack!" I thought that was rather hilarious. At least they came back and changed it the comment later.

btw, Tax DOES HURT!! I finished doing mine after I entered that picture - which means I had to rush through my forms and will probably get audited now - and well, all I can say is OUCH! :(
