Hello everybody,

How is the exposure time controlled in a digital SLR? I have an idea about how the curtains work. My question is if digital SLR have real curtains or they are implemented by means of same electronic trick.

Thanks,

Sergio

digital slr's have focal plane shutters just like film slr's. they are mechancial, and they have the mechancial bits to have the pentaprism mirror swing up out of the way as well, just like on a film slr.

One more question. I can't see the mechanism in any of the photos in which the sensor is shown. Where is that mechanism?

The reason for that is that to see he sensor the mirror has to be folded up, and the shutter wide open. If you want to see it in action you'll have to get someone with a dSLR to fire the shutte with the lens off their camera..

Cheers, Me.
