Me too. If I have to list the Sigma 18-125 for any photos, it'll come up as an Olympus lens (for the interim, I hope!). |
I don't think there's any need to list a lens separately for each camera body it's made for. The features of the lens are the same regardless, the only difference is the mount.

Listed the Non-USM version for all of you guys who got it with your camera:

Langdon,
I already used the "Contact Us" page, but it seems like everyone is using this thread to request lenses to be added.
I'd like to commend DPC on adding this valuable feature to the site. I am going through my portfolio right now and trying to add the lens I used to take the photo. It should be fun to browse the "pictures take by the lens" and do a quick compare of lenses. Although not a scientific approach to comparing lenses, it still can give an insight into what can be done with it.
I'd like to remind all DPCers to do the same - go back to your photos and pick a lens!
ps. this is the lens I wanted added.
Canon 22-55mm F/4-5.6 USM

Adding your lens shortly, but for anyone else that submitted the contact us page, I'm getting to those now. No more dupes or requests here! :)

Is there any chance of getting focal length information added to pictures in addition to the already existent exposure information? |

Yes, but only for primes ;)

Why only for primes? The focal length information is in the EXIF data for any lens.

If you edit yours, I'll edit mine post, too.
Prime lenses have only one focal length...
And also,
I think that Olyuzi was referring to another database field for the photos, not the way you can get those yourself. That said, you can put the focal length in the description (as I've seen some people do). There are other EXIF properties that could be added, such as flash, metering mode, af/mf, etc. but we have to stop somewhere.

Not to mention that colda was kidding.

it was a joke - for primes the focal length is already there because it is fixed.

Go to your portfolio, open the portfolio page for the image, you should see the option to specify the lens used.

I think this is one of the best improvements here at DPC that I have seen since becoming a user/member. I believe it will help people that are armatures like myself compare images with the lens to see what would be suitable for us [Quality vs. Price]. I hope everyone takes the time this week to put the lens they used in there portfolio pictures so when people are looking for the right lens to buy they can browse the lens area and see sample pictures. Thank DPC and everyone that worked on this improvement.

I managed to ignore this thread for the first hour or two thinking it was just somebody showing of about their new glass :D
Eventually curiosity/boredom at work got to me and I got a nice surprise.
- This is cool, thank you D&L. The interface to add them is really nice too.
- Don't anybody else ever buy a Sigma 100-300mm F/4.0 EX IF HSM for Canon. I think that page looks really good the way it is ; )
- I'll let things settle down around the "real" glass before I start trying to get any old M42/T-Mount stuff added. It'll give me time to take photos of them too.

SC & Admins,
I think that there is something wrong with the "# of Views" field for the lenses objects. It does not seem to count unique user views... if I go back and forth on any given lens, it increments the count every time I do it.
I don't think that someone is viewing them at the same time, as I've tried it on some more obscure lenses and it works all the same.
Well, it's something to fix today - as if you didn't have anything else to play with/work on.

That being said should this go on the site news so that everyone can see it?

Well anybody with half a brain would have spotted that it's in the Administrator Announcements forum, but no, not me ; )
