Abandoned "Outakes"

Including the close up as requested by one commenter...

(of note, the girl in the photo was in fact recently abandoned by the father of the child...hence i saw as tragic artistic flair in having two abandoned objects within this photo series)

An interesting bit, I submitted all four of these photos to my livejournal for a vote and submitted the most popular one. Seems to have worked as this is my top scoring photo and my first in the top 1/4 percentile.

I agree that you submitted the right one for the challenge. My personal favourite (outside the context of the challenge) is the last one. I love the composition and the colors and textures. Are you using a polarizer? I love your blue skies :-)

Congrats on the photos and best of luck in future challenges!

Saj, you GOT to learn how to make thumbnails, these are way too big...

I was using a polarizer, however, the Olympus E-20N tends to capture amazing skies even without a polarizer as evidenced by this photo taken during a super-bright day ( i didn't know about polarizer's at the time)

But the polarizer does add even a bit more. I need to get one for my new Canon 20D

sorry bear....

i guess i am so used to DSL(no "R") that I forget that 80k images aren't small to everyone...

This brings to mind a question i've had recently. Canon will inlcude "raw" + JPG. Why not include RAW+JPG_thumb. Or JPG_fine + JPG_thumb (sure not everyone would use it but a lot of us would...and it'd be very little space and save a lot of time for many of us)

Those are really great images... the colors are wonderful and look at that sharpness... what lens where you using? that was done with a 20D right?
Great shots all of them.

Actually, those were all taken with my Olympus E-20N (which is fixed lens but a quite nice lens...and the E-20N has beautiful color saturation)

(especially impressive as they were taken w/out a flash at nighttime)
