I have no problem with the key sugestions of names, however I feel that where possible SC should represent the multi cultural / multi nationality of the site as well......

Then nominate some of the 'bangers and mash' people... you have such a great bunch over there.;-)

bear_music, graphicfunk and bratp.. bradp, sorry, have my vote...

I think the brits are well represented with Manic and Konodor, who both do a wonderfull job (bowing whilst tipping my forelock)...

I was thinking more about your neck of the woods incl Far East, Asia Pacific, Africa etc....

However if, Robert Daniel and Brad were to apply I would be behind them 100%.. (metaphorically that is, as in photographic terms I am striving to be ahead of them... now that's a stiff target.)

Who've we got in those areas who might be interested? kiwiness was on SC, but retired- so he's out. Hmmm, help me out here!

More important- who in that group would want to work for almonds? ;)

First, I want to thank everyone here for their nominations and suggestions. Knowing who the community looks up to is certainly helpful to us in making a decision.

If there is anyone in particular you would like to see on Site Council, by all meeans post it here, but also please encourage them to apply! For someone to get considered for Site Council, they must submit an application. This helps to ensure they are truly willing to make the time commitment necessary.

Keep your opinions coming!

I think BradP would be great for SC and DPC, if he wants the position.

1. As a new member of only a few weeks, reading BradP's posts has given me a warm & fuzzy feeling about this site. :-D

2. Four days ago I added BradP to my favourites based on his friendly and helpful nature in the forums.

3. I have nothing to write in number three, but feel I must fill it in because it would be silly to have a numbered list with only two points.

4. Please refer to number three.

You might be ideal on the council yourself Clara, living at the seat of government and all that...

I'd rather brad spent his time working on pretty pictures. I would support bear for sure.

I'd also like to see a vote for Laurie Black. :) I mean c'mon.

So my nominees would be:
bear_music
laurielblack
blemt
doctornick
faidoi

I also think Daniel (Graphicfunk) would make a great SC as well. He is extremely knowledgeable and talented as well.

Yes
Graphicfunk entered my mind, also. Great diplomacy skills.

I'd love that !
...but I think that I'm not prepared for it.
All I have now is time and wishes to help but a lot of you are great photographers with tons of knowledge.

I would like to nominate bear_music for a position on the site council.
04/17/2005 11:03:22 AM · #71
Thanks Bam, but I don't think I will be applying as I don't want to fill my days with forum monitoring and DQ requests. I will however be stepping up my efforts on commenting more and being more helpful in the forums.

I agree. All or any of these would be a great choice for site council positions.

nominations.

I think the nominations should have been set up in a private manner. While I agree that all these people are great, I can't help but feel a bit hurt that no one's backed me up. It's fine to have no support on your back, but to see everyone backing up everyone else just seems like such a punch in the face to me at this point.

Is this like Site Council Idol? Do we get to phone/text our votes in at the end of nominations? Will Simon Cowell make a guest appearance in the forums and slag them all off?
