Not to be picky, but technically, these are called "Pushpins" - they are not tacks

Many types of fasteners fall under the broad category "tacks"; here's a definition of one of them:
pushpin
n : a tack for attaching papers to a bulletin board or drawing board (syn: thumbtack, drawing pin)
There's very little commonality, aside from a pointy end, between, say, a "thumbtack" and a "carpet tack", yet both are tacks. For an example of a whole other class of fasteners called "tacks", see //www.spotnails.co.uk/metal-tack.html
Dead horse, no need to beat it. A pushpin is just a modern version of a thumbtack, and both are legitimate "tacks"...

Yes Robt, but its great fun to be so literal. Its not a state I often find myself in. ;)

They only go together if you care about the votes...
While voting, users are asked to keep in highest consideration the topic of the challenge and base their rating accordingly.
If you had an assignment to take a photo of brakes and you submitted a photo of people on a lunch break or a smoke break, I don't think you'd get paid. Totally different.
As for dpc, though, the interpretation is left up to the voters and it's whatever strikes their fancy. |
