Well, someone, out of the blue, offered to buy my FujiFilm Finepix S7000 for US$430 with the case, so I sold it.

I am now officially without a camera. Well, I do have my Olympus D450 from 1999 (1.3mp), which may spring into action when needed.

So, it is a season of change and I will probably be 3-4 weeks until I buy a camera or two. I am thinking of the Fuji S5100 for the wife and the Canon XT for myself. But, since Nikon as set a release date of April 20th for the new series of Nikon 70s, I will see what they look like.

I have looked pretty hard at the options, but I am always open to ideas or thoughts from others, esp. what may work well for a family that wants two cameras and the wife enjoys shooting photos, but like auto mode pretty much.

So, any suggestions would be appreciated...

I'm not sure if I have the numbers or dates straight but Nikon's coming out with the D50 very soon and a D300(?). The D50 should be nice and it will drop the price of the D70 which will be sandwiched between that and the D300.

The 350xt looks nice and the 20D seems to be the ruler of the prosumer DSLR's.

I'd suggest waiting for the D50 to be released and then you can play with them all and not feel like you missed something...just in case.

Good Luck.

I am going to start shopping around for another camera,,I do like mine but as I have been shooting photos for this site and in general I am finding that I need someting a bit more flexiblity,,,I like the option of changing out lenses to get close up shots without being right on subject and I like the idea of the digital which I have one of already,,I shot pictures yesterday for someone other than family and made money wahich was cool and loved it,,and I want to get into more of that,,so any ideas? and opinions on getting used?
