Absolutely fantastic Pedro. Great images. Great emotional journey. It's good to see true travel photography on display. So when do you start shooting for Nat Geo?

Having recently done one myself, I know it was a lot of work, and I for one, thank you for sharing it.
Very moving.
Editing to add:
These montages never have the same effect for someone not personally invoved as they do for the creator. I know mine did (still does) move me deeply, and would be willing to bet it made you - nah - won't ask. I'll just assume, or assume it came close.
Amazing effect when assembled huh?

Very touching. Incredible images. Nice Job. If I may ask, what software did you use to create it? |

Pedro, thank you so much for sharing your art. Maybe one day I will learn how to do that and assemble something on Korea, another fascinating place to be. |

It looks to be a wmv file. Have you tried downloading Windows Media Player for Mac?

Took a little fiddling with media player downloading the required codec but I got it working and that's just stunning work. Some great pictures - I just wish you'd lingered longer on each one so I could get a better look! There were a lot to fit in, though.
Well worth the effort.

Pedro, you are the perfect man. Not only are you stunningly good looking and an amazing photographer but you like Coldplay? No one I know likes Coldplay.. lol I am a huge fan of Chris Martin and what he does for Make Trade Fair via Oxfam. This was a great montage, I enjoyed every second of it.

Pedro,
This is what photography should be about! Absolutely stunning presentation. It gives you a real feeling of the people, their customs, their lives, and their emotions. Very well done! 11

*yawn* is it morning already? Dumbass actually fell asleep at 5am underneath my 'puter. what's that all about?
Anyway thanks for the comments y'all. I'd love to say that it was the result of hours of hard labour and my infinite wisdom and expertise in web slideshow design. Buuuuut no. Really it took me about 5 minutes once I downloaded MS Photostory. You drag and drop the photos you want, choose the start and finish point of the camera pan on each photo (or it will do it automatically), select the music, and press Go.
@ DanSig - I'm not a big fan of anything Microsoft either. I browse with Firefox etc...but dayum, this was toooo easy. the same thing in Flash or Premiere would have taken me hours (I've done it).
@ Floyd - Thanks for taking the time to fiddle :). Even at an average of 2 seconds this thing was almost 10MB. it's not a very efficient format, so lingering too much longer wasn't really feasible. I already cut about 100 photos out of the original :)
@ Brad - not ashamed to admit when stuff makes me cry :)
@ Boozon - I applied to work for NG (NewZealand Grandmothers Magazine) already, but they didn't want me.
@ Aerogurl - How you doin'? :)
Thanks again everybody. I was kinda missing Thailand last night which is what prompted the whole thing. Nice to have some peeps to share it with.

Thanks P, for restoring my faith in humanity.
;-)
This kind of thing hits deep.
The one I did, though a bit lengthy (18 min) had same effect on me, and next month, will be played for the families and team members at the annual awards ceremony: Low-Res Slideshow, 20MB
I doubt seriously there will be few moms in the crowd with a dry eye. Hits pretty hard to those involved as I'm sure yours did you.
Is life cool or what? |

I'm a big Coldplay fan, could I be your perfect lady?????? *giggle*
Saw them live last year and it was mind blowing. Although not as talented or as incredibly good-looking as P, I DO put down the toilet seat and I can cook. |

Don't say you aren't as talented or as good looking, you are very pretty and have some amazing photos yourself! I live with 2 teen-age boys, so I am used to the toilet seat being up... and I can cook pretty good myself.. but I do have a slot open for a new friend :) hehe

That's great Brad. Hilarious that you also used Coldplay. I had different music with mine earlier, but it really only made sense to me.
I have a copy of Proshow but never taken the time to use it. you like it? easy to work with etc? I like the fact that you can make it play right in a browser rather than launching something like WMP.

Hey P,
Proshow is pretty decent. I'm not a big fan of the splash screen/logo, but oh well. Pretty much a drag and drop to get it going, then all timing and page transitions as well as the KB tweaks are pretty easily learned. Image order is a select and drag to wherever wanted.
An auto-run CD or DVD can be made, just need to tell the software what it's format will be. I seem to remember many formats available.
My master CD was done with all images at 2240x1680 and takes up about 350MB on the disc. I did this so the parents can browse the folder on the CD and see every image in that slidshow, thus being able to save a printable shot of anything they saw on in the slideshow.
Yeah, Coldplay, Keane and Zero 7 all seemed to hit the emotive target with me, and fit into place in the sequence. Can't wait until next month when it's played in the auditorium at the dinner/awards banquet.
*sniff*
