TACK:
1 The harness for a horse, including the bridle and saddle.
2 A short, light nail with a sharp point and a flat head.
3 A rope for holding down the weather clew of a course.
4 A rope for hauling the outer lower corner of a studdingsail to the boom.
5 The part of a sail, such as the weather clew of a course, to which this rope is fastened.
6 The lower forward corner of a fore-and-aft sail.
7 The position of a vessel relative to the trim of its sails.
8 The act of changing from one position or direction to another.
9 The distance or leg sailed between changes of position or direction.
10 A course of action meant to minimize opposition to the attainment of a goal.
11 An approach, especially one of a series of changing approaches.
12 A large, loose stitch made as a temporary binding or as a marker.
13 Stickiness, as that of a newly painted surface.

Today is tax day, which is why we have the speed challenge, I'm assuming, so I don't really think it's too far out of the box. I think it fits right in. |

The challenge only says tacks so therefore its tacks hmmmm yeah I'm thinking out of the box too how about a refund check and what you might do with the money when you cash it...

I´m sorry, but I didn´t know what is a tack. I know there are a good description of tack in the first thread, but my poor English doesn´t me allow to understand it.
Is it possible to post some examples? Thanks.

OK, I am the other person here who actually has no clue what "Tacks" means. Can someone give me a good example? Dictionary only confuses me more (ESL ???). I feel really dumb.

A Tack is what we Brits call a DRAWING PIN, or the Americans call A THUNB TACK used for putting pictures on a notice board or putting on teachers chair....
It's a small pin with a flattened top to enable the user to press it into a soft surface without penetrating their finger. |

This is what I will be looking for... a wider definition than thumb tacks or "tacks" forms.
