My Camedia browser no longer shows Exif data after allowable modifications have been made in PSP. Is the information still there or am I included in the 'must supply proof' grouping?.

Just keep the original image file intact (unedited) and make your edits on a copy. That way you've still got your "negative".

Thanks Irae, I always save the original shot but does this mean that my submissions to the challenges may not be acceptable in the future? that is my main concern.

Me being new to most of these terms I would like to be clearified on what is required. I have Nikon995. I do not download from the camera to PC, I use a card reader. Transfered along with the pictures is a file labeled 'Info.txt'. For each picture this file gives the following information:Camera and softwear ver.,Metering,Mode,Shutter,Aperture,Exposure compensation,Focal length,Immage adjustment,ISO,White Balance,Sharpness comp.,Date,Quality setting,Saturation and Focus Area. 1)when I enter a picture in the contest is this info automatically uploaded? 2)will I be disqualified if some of the compensation settings are not set to zero? 3)if I have moved the picture to a different folder and forgot to move the Info.txt file and deleted the old file along with the info.txt file is there a way to recover? ie: is the info with the pic too?
I am assuming the Exif data and the info.txt are one in the same. Yes?

No, they are not. EXIF type data may be saved into the info.txt file seperately, but "true" EXIF data is embedded into the picture file itself. A secondary file is not needed.

OK,thanks. So my contest pics will have the proper info? Is there any way I can view it myself?

I use the graphics program ACDSee which came with my HP printer. There are countless other programs that allow access to the data. Try going to a download site like zdnet's, cnn's, or tucows and searching for EXIF. They'll show all the programs you can download that support it. Some are free, some cost a bit of money.
You could also go the simple route and use the below:
There is a free program written by the folks who made Thumber (a widely reccommneded Digital Image Processing Software program) called EXIF reader. Get it here

ImageN does resize with exif data. It looks like shit, and has stupid interface but works nicely. ImageN is the only one I have found so far, but I wrote to the author of IrfanView, and he says the exif support is planned. I don't know about PSP, perhaps we should put some pressure on them. (I use it myself)

thanks all for the info' - I suppose this will only become a problem if you get into the top three shots - this will be one problem I look forward to!

If your camera embeds exif data in the file, and you keep the original unedited file, you can always send that as proof.
