Okay, it's true not everyone has a lighthouse in their area... so this challenge may "limit" some from entering (but then again after the 500 entry abandoned building such might be a nice for reviewing).

But even those who do not have an actual lighthouse (people in Colorado i imagine) can make a play on the theme if they have an ounce of creativity. Whether photographing a miniature lighthouse or a house made out of light.

With Kansas being a landlocked state there arent too many lighthouses around here. There is one at the mini-golf course, tho!

In view of the fact that not everyone has a lighthouse in their backyard, perhaps the suggestion could be expanded to include windmills and other solid towers.

Some people may not be able to participate but I think this would be a sucessful challenge. Lighthouses are a common photographic subject. Or, to make sure everyone could participate, we could make it "Lighthouses and Outhouses".

Why not call it Beacons and leave it wide open to interpretation.
