Has there ever been a challenge for cliches (sp)? Sorry, I know it needs an accent mark, but can't figure out how to do so on here. Anyway, for some reason "pound the pavement" comes to mind - such as a kid throwing a temper tantrum on the sidewalk. Things like that! Of course, every country probably has their own cliches (sp) and so it really might get interesting. I'd love to hear some from other nations.
Other examples: Don't put all your eggs in one basket; a stitch in time saves nine, holy crap (that could get down and dirty) or maybe holy cow instead. Okay, kpriest, I left this wide open for your nutso remarks!!! |

That is a superb challenge suggestion, with the image titled with the proper cliche'.
I just hope nobody does, "kill two birds with one stone". That would be mean (unless they didn't really kill the birds. You know what I mean...) |

There was a challenge like this...called Literalisms or something. Can O Worms, etc. I thought it was great, I'll try to linkie linkie it.

Funny you should mention that because the first thought that came into my head was something about "throwing the baby out with the bath water" - I visualized this several ways, none of which are humane, let-alone legal. And since my kids are grown, I would have had to borrow someone's baby.
 ...ok, I'll say it to myself: That's just sick!
Seriously though, I think it would be great fun, though, as kidkaboom pointed out, it has been done before and I think cliches is more of DPC or photography-specific cliche's - not as fun to me anyway. |
