I started on shutterstock a week and a half ago. About 130 pictures up and I've made $7.40 (I get about $1/day right now). I know it's not much by some standards, no $300 :-(, but hey every little bit helps.
I like shutterstock you can even make money on referals

$7.40? Why would that be worth the effort? If you don't care about making any more than that, then there would be no reason why you couldn't wait for a larger sale on a better site... :D

They're in the UK. My buyer was from Georgia (the country by Russia).

I think it's a fairly new addition as in the last 6 months. It wasnt there when I first signed up but it does seem to be something they ask for now in order to verify proof of identity.

I must of been on auto-pilot when I signed up last month. I'll keep a look out for any Austin Power's related charges...

Yes, you youngins out there would be well advised to get a credit card as soon as you turn 18...and use it. Just be sure that you've got the cash flow to pay it off the next month or two. I got my first card when I was 19, bought several high ticket items with it and, 9 years later, my credit score is high 700s and that card currently has a $28,000 limit (it started at $300).

I had a card my parents co-signed for when I was 16...led to nothing but trouble.
