I took this last month, and was unable to get back there in the morning hours for the shot. How would it have done?

I'd have probably given this a 7 on the first pass and then gone back and re-evaluated it before the challenge ended.
I find the vines outside the windows intriguing. Where was this taken? |

I would score the pic a 707 an 8. Color, composition and sharpness/focus and subject are all good. What will make it an 9 to 10 from me is if you taught me something new or really impressed me. |

It's one of the original Water Works in the country, but it has seen better days lol. It is in Manayunk (philadelphia, pa).
It's very dangerous in there, half the floor has given out, and there are many holes you must avoid and hope to not fall in lol. Now I am sure it is a popular drinking spot for the kiddies.

it should have done well, but I would have cropped out the door on the left as it is distracting and doesn't add to the photo

this is a good picture; the building is interesting as is the shape of the windows. 7 or 8 |

This corner staircase was originally inside the house, but the exterior walls are now gone. I really liked the shot but was not sure that it met the "Abandoned Buildings" challenge very well so I entered one very similar to so many others in the challenge. Was that a mistake or did I make the right choice? (My entry is at 6.000 with only 4 votes so far).

(Trying again...)
Do you think this outtake would have suffered because other voters felt that it does not meet the challenge?
Would YOU penalize it for not meeting the challenge? |

I think the concept would have gotten lost with the voters. The view time for voting is very short - decision made in just a few seconds. Comments like "where's the building?" would have prevailed. ;^)
How's the 6 holding up on the image submitted? :P Keep smiling!

Jeremy - This is a very nice photo. Nice lighting, interesting subject (windows). The composition is helped by having three windows in the frame, although I would crop the left as Firsty mentioned, and maybe some off the bottom (?). I would like to see the lighting outside the windows a bit darker (not so bright), but being this was a basic challenge you couldn't have selected the windows and dropped the brightness any. I light the interior lighting so you can't really adjust the brightness overall without hurting it. Perhaps a minor bump in contrast also to give the brick a little more detail? As is, I would have given it a 6 or 7.

Would've given it a 5, maybe a 6 on 2nd pass. Fits the challenge but feel like there's nothing to frame left.

At least an 8 or 9 - I agree with the door - not destracting(didn't even notice at first) just unneccessary |

I believe I would have given the photo a 6. I do like the image. Its hard to back seat quarterbacking on your reason for this particular view. I would have liked to see your out takes. Good job. |
