It's time to get a new printer and an A3 is to be the order of the day. But which... the 1290s or the R1800?
Anybody have any opinions/views/comments?
If you have they would be very welcome. :)

All I can say is that I bought the R800 when it first came out, about a year ago, with the new ink technology, specifically the "gloss optimiser". I believe the R1800 is basically an A3 version of that printer, which only goes to A4.
I can't praise this (R800) printer highly enough, the prints are astounding. It won a heap of awards and really did raise the standard for home printing as far as I am concerned.
My only critism of the R800 .... it doesn't do A3.
However, I do not know the 1290s, so I can't compare the two, but the R1800 sounds supberb.

I bought the R1800 and have thus far enjoyed it immensely - I did not have a printer beforehand but the reputation of the R800 was one of the big reasons for me choosing this model.

I got the 2100/2200 printer and it´s excellent, and if it´s within your budget then that would be my sugestion, but the 1290 is a great printer too.
there is a new printer from Canon that might be worth taking a look at, cant remember the type number, but it´s a 1 mpiezo dotsize |
