I have a gallery in the greenville SC news at the Link....This is so cool!
It gives me a few more goals to keep trying and make even more better photos that will top my average score here..:)

Congrats on the publicity. How were you selected to take photos of this event? Do you sub for this news source?

No I wished I could of been "subbed" or "chosen"... The Link is part of the news and they ask others in the community if they have digital camreras or cell phones to send in up to 4 photos in a email....
I sent in four and my link to my portfoilio and when I checked out new things today there my pictures were.. There are a lot of news groups that allow you to send in your photos these days check it out in your local community news on the web....It is a awesome pick me up to know that atleast if I am trying to be a good photographer (wannabe) as to documenting events in my town that they have put them in a popular viewed gallery.... It is giving photos back to the community and for the people in the pictures to not get mad if they see me taking a photo of them...
Really technically I didnt ask or get a model release sign..shhhh I dont know how that works out so much.. I guess I need too huh...

You might want to ask skiprow about that one...seeing how he's into all the legal mumbo jumbo recently. ;^)

Eeek...I might get smacked around for this but photographers are in big trouble if this is the future of news reporting (and many suggest that it is).
Hearty congrats to you, tolovemoon...but I have to say I hope that free photos for publications isn't the wave of the future.
Edited to say the obvious: Having members of the community send in photos is a great idea in and of itself, I just don't look forward to more and more of this happening at the expense of paid positions at newspapers.

So perhaps I could get some pointers of what I could do as to I'd like to get paid too someday... and I will try to make sure not to step in the way of others trying to do their job...specially not yours...:) I am practicing and my camera has yet to have me comfortable using it for a must have situations so I guess you could say I am doing the time... :) I dont think that all the galleries on the site there get printed and then I am sure they couldnt mine I think because I didnt have model releases signed...Right? .
I know the topic has been brought up before and there must be tons but while I am here I'll ask?
