I had to send my 5700 to them - twice. The first time they didn't fix the problem and it had to go back for round two before they did it right. Each time it was probably 3 weeks.

Ryan, I sent my 4300 to photo tech on E. 13 near union square, they tried to fix it then sent it to nikon and that did take three weeks. hope you have better luck! Maybe have photo tech look at it first to see if they can do it faster, they're a huge authorized nikon repair facility and close by train

Here's a thread about my experience with my local authorized repair shop...

Edit: I should also mention that all total the local shop took about a week, and everything has worked fine since I got them back. Though I am a little concerned that if both lenses needed connector repairing, it could happen again and the 70-210 could become very expensive. I kinda don't trust that my local shop was being honest with me.

A few years ago I sent a Nikon 995 to the Melville NY facility and they had it back out to me in about 9 business days as I recall. I was very satisfied with the quality of the service.
With regard to turn-around time, I think alot depends on how busy they are at a given point, and whether any parts necessary are readily available... or not.

Not personally, but my camera is pretty new. My friend sent in a D100 about a year ago and got it back in about 10 days, good as new.

ok thanks alot I checked out a local repair shop by me but I got a funy feeling about leaving it there and I also did not get and exact price about fixing it there.............so I figure I would just deal with the wait and send to Nikon. Just never did it before and wanted some feedback. So thanks alot for the info.
