| What am I missing here? Right before the voting ended, I saw 202 votes on my submitted image. Now, after final results, I see 4 less votes at 198. Strange, but how does that happen? |

Every challenge has a "vote dump".. where votes are typically stripped from the challenge by an automated vote scrubber that detects anomolous voting habits. (such as a person voting all 1s.. or an abnormal number of 5s say). Nobody really knows exactly what it looks for though, or it'd be easy to get around it.. or something.
Anyway, that's why votes will disappear.

The software on the site looks for "oddities" in a person's voting pattern and dumps all their votes in case they were handing out 2-10's and 100-1's.
Also, if someone doesn't vote on at least 20%, their votes are dumped as well. |
