I personally know this creature shot here:

While he looks all nice and sweet there (and why it didn't place higher, I have NO idea) here is what this dink did today:

One of my jobs out at the barn is cleaning and filling the water tubs in the outside pastures. This helps pay for the rental and transportation of Star for this summer for the shows Ellie wants to participate in. There are a lot of them but I don't mind.

Well, today, while filling Pasture 3, which isn't far from the barn I was talking to one of the girls there and turned around to check on the tub I was filling and was a bit surprised to see Cinnamon at my feet. Cinnamon is one of 3 kittens found last year in the brush and adopted by Gale and the barn. He and his brother Boots are very loveable and sweet and easy going. James has on more than one occasion picked this cat up under his hind legs and carried him to me and Cinnamon just doesn't care!

So here he is all stretched out by my foot and I said to him, "Hey Cinnamon! You spooked me! You better move cuz I have to move this water hose to the next tub and you're gonna get wet!"

He just looks at me with those lazy eyes like, "Yeah, whatever, you won't get me wet!"

He's right, I pinched the hose off and tried to avoid him when I took the hose out but a couple of drops hit him anyway and he ran. The girl and I walk to the Pasture 2 and start filling that one. Again, here comes Cinnamon and he stretches out next to the tub on the left side, the side that leans down a bit. I don't think anything of it and keep talking to the girl.

Then I look and see the tub is about to overflow and Cinnamon is making no move. I looked at the girl (who really needed a laugh right then) and said, "Should I? Wanna see a cat jump sky high?"

She looks, smiles and says, "Yeah."

So I let the tub overflow, at first it was just a little dribble that landed on Cinnamon's butt and he didn't move. Then the overflow happened, pouring water out of the tub on this cat's butt for at least 5 seconds! We both cracked up, it took him a full 5 seconds to realize he was getting wet and to move. And did he jump? Oh no, not Cinnamon, he gets up, shakes himself and saunters off in typical cat fashion, you know the type, "I meant to do that!"

What a dink!

This is his sister:

Funny story! As an aside, I think the sister's shot would've placed better. One thing for me about your shot (other than I don't like cats) was the title was over-explanatory and I still didn't get it, but never saw the movie referenced.

My 2 cents. Thanks for sharing the story.

It wasn't my shot, it was my friend's Gale. Mine was of my Bug who placed pretty darn well considering the competition.

His story is in the notes, he's very special to me.

Thanks :)

Really good stories, both of 'em. As for Gail's shot, I'm sure the reason it didn't place higher is there's basically no face there. Just fur and paws and eyebrows. In a challenge like this, the eyes are gonna win...

Ok - re-addressing comments to Gale. ;-)

RE: the dog - I thought this shot was great! And a strong finish! Congrats. I'd read the whole story, but I have adult A.D.D. :(
