Classiest as far as prestige?

Ferrari. Heard that they screen their buyers or used to. Heard if you won the lottery and wanted to buy a new Ferrari they wouldn't let you. Although that is kinda being stuck up.

Other options: Bentley, Mercedes,Lexus. Am I forgetting any?

It would have to be BMW for me. We have a 5 series BMW and a new ford focus for school runs and things. When the children leave home in 20 years or so...lol...I think a nice 2 seater convertable sports car maybe top of the list..

I have heard this too. It's to keep the uniqueness of it I suppose. If I won the lottery I would tell them there car isn't worthy of me...lol.

Morgan. but only in terms of 'Class;

Cars fall into a set of categories:

Very nice(but wouldn't buy even if I could afford because it's only a car for christsake)

Nice

Decent means of locomotion

Whatever, it moves.

If you buy this you are moron with more money than taste and you will be first againt the wall when the revolution comes.

and lastly, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you and I will huint you and your children down with a tractor.(reserved for SUV's, Hummers etc that aren't on a farm.

a fair percentage of those who win the lottery go bankrupt....

a classy car - isn't necessarily the auto manufactures doing. i am fond of a nicely refurbished classic ford step side pick up.

I think that is only for special addition cars. I dont think much of these cars, they are soooo small. I guess they would be a chick draw if you were looking for whores.

not sure you'd need one to get a whore...

BMW? The car of choice for council estate drug dealers. Not quite what I'd call classy ; )

Ferrari? Never heard of any of this buyer screening nonsense, but then I haven't tried to buy one yet. The old ones are the classiest.

Morgan? Now there is a real classy motor. Fast too : )

The Vauxhall Chavalier must be up there in the top ten :D

No I am not a drug dealer...Just had a spare £40,000 to buy the 5 series that I liked. Think most drug dealers choose the old style BMW. I think someone who lives on a council estate that doesn't have any money would have your top 10 car, or a boy racer!!....It's personal choice.

"Classy" is an interesting adjective; by its nature, it's not likely to be used by trendy people. It's kind of a stuffy word, if ya know what I mean? In different vernaculars, "classy" might be rendered as "rad", "awesome", "groovy"... You get the idea. So as applied to automobiles, I'd be inclined to use it literally; which automobiles reek of "class"? Which ones show the understated elegance that appeals to conservative "old money"?

Classics aside, that pretty much leaves the Bentley and the Rolls, in my opinion. Or for something sportier, the Aston Martin. Though Bentley has a couple of MONSTER fast cars that surpasseth belief.

Ferraris, Lamborghinis, cars like that are too flashy to be "classy" IMO. "Classy" is luxurious and understated. Mercedes, Lexus and BMW are too common and accessible to be truly "classy", I should think. One might make an exception for the Maybach by Mercedes...

None of the aforesaid represents my personal taste, however. Where I live and for what I like to do 4WD is a requirement. If cost were no object my ride would be a well-cared-for Toyota Land Cruiser. My 1992 Jeep suits me fine however. If I could have two cars, I'd back up my Land Cruiser with a vintage Cobra or an early E-type Jaguar, one of the most beautiful cars ever designed IMO.

Robt.

Maybach 62 is a pretty classy car. If you go this classy, you gotta have a driver though.

Check it out

I find the Audi A8 W12 Quattro just about the classiest car around.
Why ?
Because it doesn't look like a $100k car...

Classy is often confues with exclusive.

Either one speaks to the owner's style/mentality.

Hmm...I sitll like cadillac and lincoln, but they seem rather like a blue hair's blue callar retiree car.

BMW says the owner values performace and practicality. Mercedes is very similar.

Lexus/Infiniti - says you're yuppie nuveau riche to me.

SUVs...too damned trendy. A hummer is not classy. An evening gown and tux is classy - to climb in and out of an H1 dressed like that is not deemed classy by me.

Packard...Pierce Arrow. Older Jags, Rolls Royce. Now we be talkin classy. Any limo works well too.

You can't tell me that arriving in this car would be anything but classy! 1936 Pierce-Arrow 1601 Metropolitan Town Brougham

Horse team and carriage flanked by Great Danes. The horses would have to be warmbloods, the carriage would be of laminated wood and leather, with brass lanterns.

And the owner would have to live in a strange, alternate universe of his own :-)
