I know many Japanese with pale skin and freckles.

Some Asians, but not all will be offended by the "O" or "C" word. I know some people that would be really peeve if used around them.

So what do you all think about the movies? I loved the first one. The second one had cool graphics, but I thought it sort of wandered aimlessly. I was a little disapointed.

Whoa, hold on, dude. What do you mean the "C" word? How else does one refer to a Chinese citizen without saying "Chinese?" I mean, how is nationality an insult? In the case of "Chinese American," I can understand, but that's because "Chinese American" and "Chinese" are two different things--using the latter of which incorrectly could very well be perceived as alienating, but in the case of a REAL Chinese citizen, I don't understand at all.

I have a close Cambodian friend who does not get offended by the use of the word Oriental. It is a rather broad based word though. Up until just recently oriental was meant to include any race east of Greece. It is now mostly limited in the English language to meaning of the non-caucasion, non-semetic Asian races.

I don't think it's a very widespread thing. I have several Chinese American friends who are very promoting of their Chinese heritage. I'm sure that if you ask the vast majority of Chinese nationals about it they would be proud, like every other nations citizens.

most of my asian friends and ex girlfriend find "oriental" very demeaning. and NovaTiger, i think the "c" word that was referred to earlier is either "Ch*nk" or "celestial" which i've heard used b4 to describe them.

I can't wait to see Milla Jovovich play Alice in Part 3. I think she might reveal even more in that movie. I know guys, she is flat on top, but she is just STUNNING !

we say oriental, hispanic etc, it isnt a nasty thing to say as far as i know.

The people who are in the photos made them. The one girl is a Fashion Designer and Makeup Artist, so she does that for a living.

the best composition is the one of Ada Wong. But the model is not "Chinese" .

I just hope 3 is better then 2 was. I was under the distinct impression while watching that movie that the producers figured they didn't need put in a whole lot of effort because they knew they already had a loyal following: RE fans, Milla fans, and those who had watched and enjoyed the first movie. Good action, round-about plot. The first movie was so much better.

I guess that except for in the case of Terminator and T2 sequels rarely live up to the debut.

that is true in most cases Martin. T2 is an exception and so was X2, the sequel to X-men. These days sequel's are always higher in budget but lower in character development and story. I think the first Resident evil was better also.

i have. i've even heard that it's politically incorrect in the US. not that people care about polital correctness... but i personally no longer use the word.
