Thank you....but there was a reason behind the date...you know....rebelling etc. But I think it could be the worst! Yea! I'm a winner! |

Yah.. How *DARE* we think outside the box on a cemetery challenge.. we need to have more respect for the dead. We're pagan heathens, don't you know.
3% for this one.. not my worst percentage ever, but definitely for 2005.
What gets me is the one comment.. that I was wasting someone's time with this photo. Too bad. Go vote on the U.S. elections then.

I agree. It should have scored higher. |

My lowest- 27% and a 4.7 for this. The funny thing is there were entries that finished way higher that were not even pink. Work that one out considering it was a pink challenge...

I really liked this image, I new it would tank, but I also figured there would be at least a few people on here that would enjoy it as well. I was right! No regrets :-p |

I had the same problem in pink, though not so bad, because I turned red peppers pink. You turned a green kiwi fruit pink. Apparently this was considered to be a no-no by the voters of the pink challenge, who wanted to see natural pinks. Except someone did very well with a pink piece of heavy machinery, so go figure...

My Cemetery entry - 45%
Not an especially bad photo, but not an especially great one either. The great thing about these challenges is that you can do a rush job, not expect much, get great feedback and learn a few things.
In the original poster's case, you knew you were taking a risk, so it should not be too disappointing. You still got great feedback on it and now you know that thinking too far outside the box will not score well.
For what it's worth, I gave it a very low score because I am a stickler for the Challenge relevance - otherwise it's just a great photo contest and there would be no point to the Challenge topics - everyone could interpret them as broadly as they want - as some here often do. |

Bwahaaahaaa. That cracked me up! Zoomdack - I looked for your pet entry, but couldn't find any images of giant pet rocks standing on the beach at the Oregon coast! :-P LOL
Just razzin ya, Zoom. |

For images in DPC portfolios:
Click on the last button on the toolbar, enter the image ID.
For External images, you need to use the URL button and enter the url to the larger image, then just enter anything or nothing in the text part and then replace that with the external thumbnail image reference:
[ url=//www.externalsite.com/link-to-large-image.jpg ]
[ img ]//www.externalsite.com/external_thumbnail.jpg[ /img ]

I just recieved my worst percentile finish of 2005... (drum roll)... 5%. Yes, that is 5% in the "Cemetery" challenge. Here is the lowly esteemed picture:
I expected to get zinged for thinking outside the box, but this was a double zing. Good ahead, show me your worst percentile photo of 2005, a smile while you do it! |
A nice, heartwarming response to this thread:) And it makes sense, not everyone has a ribbon, but everyone does have a worst shot. Well, here is to improving!

I like it, technically. very stark. perhaps standing hte broom up would have helped, or an old kid's abused rag doll. Of course, these suggestions don't help now, do they? |
Thanks for the tips, that probably would help. |

With TP shouldn't you ask for Booty Prize?

The current challenge is my worst with complaints flooding my comments box even as we speak. But we who dwell in the bottom 50 percentile have learned to keep a stiff upper lip and keep clicking away.

Not only the worst score for 2005, but the worst score overall:
My 1st entry in 2005, my 1st entry with the 350D
And it brought my avarege votes recieved back from a 5.9989 to a meager 5.8 :(
I promise that I will score at least top 20 in the upcomming free study! |

Hey Philos, I also plan to make the top 20 in the Free Study... I guess that doesn't leave much room for the others here, but we will let them work that out:)
BTW, How do you like the Canon 350? Just curious as I am being tempted to indulge in a purchase.
