Took this photo tonight because I like the colors and lighting (although I could probably try and fix the hotspot in the upper corner on the clock, I kind of like it there.) As I was working on it in The GIMP, I decided to try a few artistic filters that the program provides, and came up with two versions I rather like.. this one:

Which is an application of the "Line Art" under the GIMPressionist filter, and this one:

Which is an application of the "Feathers" under the GIMPressionist filter. I, of course, converted the image to the duotone that you see first.

Let me know what you think.. I'm just having some fun here, and thought that this was a pretty good generic shot to play with.

Oh, and I toyed with the idea of putting the original into the "Accidental Letters" challenge (hence the titles), but had to do some non-basic editing on it, and I feel I can get something better anyway.

The third one intrigues me; I like the effect. The second seems to have been shot through some textured glass and doesn't do much for me. I didn't know The GIMP had filters. It might be worth looking into (although I have PS CS).

I did the third one with a selective re-sat on the leaves.. you can see it here: Selective Re-sat

I think it looks *much* better.
