Do you have a submissions or favorites trend?
I was reflecting on the entries I have made on DPC and notice that:
44% (24/55) of my submissions are in portrait
15% (8/55) are square (or nearly)
42% (23/55) are landscape
And that, overall, I enter photos that are predominantly black, brown or blue.
My favorites are not at all the same:
66% of those are in landsacpe
and I have chosen blue, white and gold predominantly....
I never would have guessed that! |

i have noticed that alot of my favourites are black and whites. Alot of the photos in my portfolio are black and white, where i always thought i loved colour mostly. Hmmm, you have got me thinking now.

| I got started on this because I thought that maybe I submit too many portrait shots. You know with all the scrolling required on some monitors, maybe I'm doing myself a disservice. But I also thought that more than half of my photos were portrait. Never knew how much I favored square....except, that is, in other people's work. Hmmm. |

LOL, fully 50% of my submissions have been square, with 25% each in portrait and landscape. That's not a surprise to me, since I consciously try to maximize the size of my submissions.

I never counted them up like you did KaDi, but I noticed some time ago that a lot of my better scores are with predominantly blue images.
Blue is cool. Blue is my friend. :)

in my portfolio (not on DPC) my pictures are mostly landscape, but most of my closeups are portrait.
on this site there are restrictions in dimention and size, 640x640 pixels, 150kb, therefore most members crop their picture to get a full size display on this site, to look at a picture that is 640x480 or 640x320 is almost boring, it´s too small to see any details, so to get some votes, then the picture needs to be as close to 640x640 as possible.
if you look through the members portfolios more than 50% of all the pictures are close to 640x640.
I actually prefer the square, remindes me of the medium format that I really want to buy but can´t afford. |

Without examining my portfolio, the only trend I am aware of is that my average score for black and white photos is much higher than my average overall.

i see my top 5 photos are all black/white.
