Makes the Menus and Text big and readable (Extra Large can be ugly though).

Yup - I've tried that but it only works on some type, like you said menues and the like. That partial conversion of type also causes problems on some sites with overlap, etc. I do quite a bit of news reading online so I'm normally looking at stories where the type does not enlarge with those settings. Thanks anyway. I think my next pruchase is a bigger LCD. Now I just need to decide how much bigger.

I have a Samsung SyncMaster 910t. Color seems good, but I've had some trouble with bright whites. For example, on the greyscale bar thingy at the bottom of DPC voting pages, I can't distinguish the first 2 squares from each other. I've been fideling quite a bit trying to fix this, but have yet to be successful. Thinking about investing in one of those calibration tools.

Robt.

I agree. I'd like to see Laptop LCD as an option in the poll. My laptop screen is pathetic compared to my desktop LCD. The laptop's gamma shift with viewing angle is really obnoxious.

I think I remember you saying you are running these at 1600x1200. If so, how is it for reading? I currently run a 17" at 1280x1074 and it is hard to read most print. That is why I was thinking of jumping to a 23". I want to run 1600x1200 and still be able to read small print.

If I thought 1600x1200 on a 20" would work I could save some bucks!

It really works great. 20" @ 1600x1200 is very readable. The two together give me 3200X1200. This is fantastic for Photoshop. I put all my menues on one monitor and edit essentially full screen onthe other. I love it.

While this will work, it's really unnecessary.

I have read that the Samsung Syncmasters are very good for photo editing with a number of gamma presets. The 920T but I haven't got any info on it and the 193P TFT and is $985.00 in Australia.
