I can't sleep. The thunderstorms passing through have made me think about something Gibran once wrote. I'm going out into the storm with my Mk II to see what I can capture. I'll let you know how it went when I get back.

A wet dog, a wet camera, a wet butt and 173 mediocre 6 sec exposures. Too much water and not enough electricity. I felt a little ignorant walking around in an electrical storm with an extended aluminun tripod, but you have to take some chances. I'll try the picture I had in mind again during another storm sometime in the near future.

If you have ever read Kahlil Gibran's The Storm you would begin to understand the feeling you can get by going out in the middle of a storm just to soak it in. No car, no raincoat, just you and the weather. It gives you a feeling of life that may have been dormant in you too long.
Of course taking a camera with you kind of stifles a lot of the feeling of pure abandon as you start to worry about just how much rain it will take before it starts to let off little sparks, but I was on a mission.
