What are your spouses reactions to you being on here alot?

I am lucky because my husband and i have our computers next to each other. :) While i am on here he is at his favourite sites (eg: worth 1000 and www.atomic.com.au) (that is an aussie computer site for all you uber geeks ) :)
Just curious.

It's really a non-issue if I'm on here or not. The bigger issue is if I'm helping with household chores or not(regardless of the reason). She pretty much understands that this site is a creative and developmental part of my photography and art in general.

My spouse is OK with it as long as I give her attention as well. My computer area is in the same room as our TV so I can talk with her while I'm on the computer. It helps that I do a lot of work on here because sometimes she thinks I'm working when actually I'm on DPC. Luckily the computer is across the room from the sofa where she sits and she can't see the screen. lol

my wife watches those silly reality tv shows I dont like, so I visit DPC and a few other sites. Its a good ballance. When she needs the PC to do her lesson plans, I go do my laundry or the dishes. Now that we have a PS2 I will play that when she needs the PC if one of those silly shows is not on

Plus she likes looking at the great pics DPC'ers post here so its a win win situation.

I don't think my wife knows how much time i spend here. I don't think i know either...thank goodness.

I work nites, she days, so that is not an issue (she is currently sleeping). My kids...ages 1 and 4, while they are not aware of DPC, they are aware of my being on here..."Yeah yeah yeah, wait a minute, just let me finish typing this." is all they hear. LOL

Oh she is OK with it as long as I help with things around the house. I have to admit I have a very understanding wife. If I like something such as this site and want to participate in it she is OK with it. So I have to say, I'm luck....[no she's not standing over my shoulder right now making me say this..lol]

My wife complains about the time I spend here, I got my own office at home with all my computers and cameragear and spend most of the time I am home in my office, but I only use the computer when my wife is watching those really boring realityshows, like the swan, CSI, Law & Order, and all the other crap they show on TV these days.

I don´t watch TV.. the only reason being that there is nothing interesting on TV.. I watched a newscast back in 1993, and it was about Bush being at war with Iraq, then I watched another newscast in 2004 and Bush was still at war with Iraq.. so nothing had changed in 11 years.. same news as were last time I watched TV ;)

at least there are a few new posts here every time I log in :)

I've been into photography since I was 11 so my husband has put up with the hobby since we met in 1992. But in the last couple of years he's been sucked RIGHT in and is now probably just as into it as I am. He certainly enters more often than I do!

your husband should have a look at http//www.overclockers.com.au
if he is into computers it is a great site and has a good forum (including a photography section)
the link for the atomic site should be //www.atomicmpc.com.au
one of my computers featured in the second edition of their magazine
turbine computer
full details on turbine computer //www.easyscrew.net/mcgoff/mcgoff-turbine.php

and my wife has her own computer in the same room so no problems here

My wife loves my pictures, she just can't believe how much time I spend on here... I have amazed myself at how well I can type and edit while holding two kids on my lap and entertaining a third. I have tried to get my wife to sign up, but she is resisting.

On the plus side, my wife know that I really like photogrpaphy and supports me in that pursuit. She just want me to maintain balance. I am a lucky man to have such a wonderful wife! Here she is with our youngest (my unsubmitted "Best Friends" photo)...

I just told my spouse what I posted... she just laughed. She asked if I could spell the word "addiction". She told me for best friends, I should have taken a picture of me & my camera.

I told her I was going to spend $200 on a nice camera for her this summer so she could take more pictures... or spend $2500 on a camera for me and give her my FujiFilm S7000. She could not keep a straight face.
