I couldn't get the user guide link to work. Sounds like Nikon let the cat out of the bag. I assume that it will rival the Canon 350D or XT model. I also leary about the spec's since it drops the model number down to D50 instead of up to D200 like it was previoulsy rumored. Let me know. |

Have 2 gb in SD cards already. None of my current cameras use Compact flash. |

So I have not been following all the Nikon rumours, etc so where does this camera fit in teh lineup?
From the #, I assume a below the D70 model? Or is it a D70 replacement? Any rumours i had heard were about an 8Mp D80 model.
Any word on price?

I keep a close eye on it and let you know. I have always wanted a Nikon and this year might be the one to go dSLR. D70 was no one on list especially that I like the body's ergonomics and the 2 dials. As for image quality I sincerely prefer Canon. Now that D50 also has only one dial I think my mind is pretty much made for 350D...
