So I went down to Best Buy today (to browse, I'm buying online) and messed around with their camera selection, avoiding the pushy sales people (though they aren't near as bad as ABC Warehouse) and took some shotes, pushed all the buttons, put them in my pockets....basically narrowed my search for an awesome compact digital down to the Canon SD500 ELPH and the Sony DSC W7. If you have any imput on which is better, please share! I'm in a heated battle with myself as to which to pick.

I do have a W1. I've been looking at this W7, and so far the only difference I can get is the bigger sensor, 7.1mp, compared to the 5.1mp mine has.
I won't say it's the best camera in the world, but it surelly kicks some butt for a P&S camera!
Memory sticks are expeeeeeensive :-D

Personally, I would go with the Canon. I have the S400 Elph and love it. I've only ever used one Sony digicam and didn't care for it...Can't remember what model though.

I have the S410 Elph and it's a wonderful camera. Takes great pictues with such low noise. I carry it my purse with me everywhere. I've done a couple of challenges with it and even gotten one of my higher scoring pictures with it. (Any Mail Today?)
