My very first challenge entry was of my 18 year old cat, Crackers. I'm very glad I took that photo and have it in my portfolio. Today we had to say good-bye to him, so I'm feeling a little glum. I've thought about him sadly a few times at work today and now I'm getting ready to leave and go work out. It's going to be different going home tonight. I know he's only a cat (and mostly he drove me crazy), but he was family...

Sorry for your loss Wendy. We recently lost our family cat also. Had him for 12 years.

I am so sorry to hear that, there is no need to say that "he's only a cat" pets are part of the family too, and there is no need to feel embarrassed for missing him, I'm glad you have some nice pictures to remember him by.

Thanks James and Brad (by the way Brad, I like your profile photo-LOL). I feel a little guilty but Crackers was meowing night and day and never seemed to be happy anymore and had to eat baby food (that was gross). He stopped sleeping on our beds, so he had to be hurting. Anyway, thanks again. It feels good to hear from others.

Commented on his shot. And like Brad said, no such thing as just a cat. Thoughts, prayers, and headbutts from my current crew.

I'm very sorry to hear about your cat. You really get attached to them. We have a 19 year old cat on his very last legs - keep thinking we should have him put to sleep but I can't bring myself to do it.

Thank you all for your kind words. I'm sure Crackers is very comfortable now meeting up with some earlier departed cat buddies and making some new ones. It's going to take some getting use to the quiet at home now after nearly 19 years!
