You've touched a nerve for me here...
I've had a pretty amazing emotional ride over the last wee while as well, with loosing a good friend and our daughter changing our lives in so many ways. I hope you don't mind if I leap in.

Too often we forget the small things, and in this life we really only have our memory call our very own.
Taking time to take in and enjoy memories is of greater importance than all other things in our short lives combined. Use your minds eye, and take a mental note of the things that move you, so that you might take them out and dust them off when things arn't so good.
Maybe it's a side effect of modern technology, but often (and more so on this site) we focus on the technical niceties of photography when it's real power is in capturing those moments that lift your heart, and carry you on a journey through memories you keep to yourself.
That shot of myself and phoebe in the church is my favourite photo in ages. At 100% it's terrible, and only the 640 resize makes it look technically OK, but I've got a tear in my eye as I type this. All the parents on the site will know exactly what I mean.
To quote an old friend (Not sure if it's his or not):
"Life is about creating memories, you'd better make sure they're damn good ones, becauase where you're headed they're all that matter."
Get out there and make some memories, and Thanks for sharing Artyste.
Cheers, Me.
